We love this shot of François Cevert - the pitting on his crash helmet, the black tape around the airbox and the bravery of a man prepared to give it his all.

 

Having qualified 6th on the grid, François was forced to retire on lap 51 with a gearbox issue, while his team mate, Jackie Stewart, who qualified 5th, went on to claim the victory
